Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is taking fans on a high-speed nostalgia trip with the reveal of a brand-new track set in Windmill Isle, the iconic starting location from Sonic Unleashed. The track was quietly revealed through a short gameplay clip shared on official Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds social media channels, showcasing the Apotos-inspired locale in full vibrant glory.

In the video, Sonic’s sleek blue race car speeds through the narrow, seaside cobblestone streets, collecting rings and pulling off stylish tricks mid-drift. At certain moments, the vehicle transforms into flight mode, soaring over gaps and navigating areas without roads—an ideal adaptation of the original stage’s dynamic terrain into kart racer form.

The track’s layout appears to draw direct inspiration from Sonic Unleashed, featuring familiar turns, elevation changes, and ring placements that longtime fans will instantly recognize. Whether it’s a 1:1 recreation or a reimagined homage, the sunny, white-and-blue scenery unmistakably captures the spirit of Apotos.

This is the latest addition to what’s shaping up to be a nostalgia-packed lineup in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. With SEGA’s “Racing Around the World” campaign in full swing, the inclusion of one of Sonic’s most globally inspired levels is perfectly timed.

More track reveals and gameplay details are expected as we get closer to launch. Stay tuned to Sonic City for the latest updates on Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and beyond.
