Famitsu hosted their own version of the game awards and Sonic Frontiers won the Best Action Adventure Game Award! The game bested other games that were nominated namely, God of War Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Not exactly a shocking development since earlier in 2022, the publication claimed that Sonic Frontiers was the best game of the year in their preview.
The game’s director, Morio Kishimoto, thanked everyone for the win on Twitter.
