Version 1.7 of Sonic Blitz has officially arrived, bringing major gameplay adjustments, new events, and updated card mechanics aimed at refining the overall experience.
The biggest change comes from the new scoring and victory system, which completely overhauls how matches are played. Each card now has a Score stat, determining how many points it contributes during battles. Players can now earn points in two ways:
- Hitting the opponent’s Force Field during Battle.
- Knocking out an opponent’s card into their Force Field by reducing its Power to zero.
This new system adds more depth and strategy to every encounter, making positioning and timing even more crucial to securing victory.
Card Adjustments
Card balance has been fine-tuned to fit the new gameplay structure:
- Power values have been divided by ten for easier readability.
- Abilities have been rebalanced across multiple cards.
- Players can now preview upgrade effects before spending resources.
Notable Ability Changes
- Flicky
- V1.7: After Battle – Return to the field and score 1 point.
- V1.6: After Battle – Return to the field and gain +150 Power.
- Ricky
- V1.7: On Reveal – Grant +1 Score to the next card you play.
- V1.6: On Reveal – Grant +200 Power to the next card you play.
- Tikal
- V1.7: On Battle – Grant +2 Score to a card in hand.
- V1.6: On Reveal – Grant +300 Power to a card in hand.
- Dr. Fukurokov
- V1.7: On Reveal – Retrigger the On Reveal ability of another card.
- V1.6: On Reveal – Grant +250 Power to your other cards on the field.
- Blaze
- V1.7: On Reveal – Score points equal to this card’s Score.
- V1.6: On Reveal – Score points equal to this card’s Power.
New Blitz Battle Zone Events
- Amy Rose Intro for new players.
- 6-Star Decks Event, where all cards are set to 6 Stars.
- 3-Star Decks Event, where all cards are set to 3 Stars, offering a balanced experience for beginners and veterans alike.
New Personalization Options
- Amy Rose Card Back
- Amy Rose Profile Frame
General Updates
- 3D characters now remain visible on the field after battles.
- Missions and tutorials have been fully updated to align with the new scoring system.
Amy Spotlight Event
Amy Rose takes center stage in her own Sonic Blitz event designed especially for new players. This limited-time event introduces Amy’s signature deck and playstyle through themed missions. Completing all three missions rewards players with exclusive customization items and helps them master Amy’s abilities.
