Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is officially coming to Prime Video this summer. The hit movie will be available to stream starting June 20, bringing the most successful chapter in the film series to an even wider audience.

Originally released to widespread acclaim, the film earned $492.2 million worldwide and became the top-grossing entry in the Sonic cinematic universe. With a blend of action, humor, and heartfelt moments, the movie also featured standout performances from the returning cast, including Jim Carrey in a dual role as Ivo and Gerald Robotnik.

Carrey’s return was uncertain following earlier reports of his possible retirement, but he ultimately reprised his role. “I came back to this universe because I get to play a genius, which is a bit of a stretch. And you know, I bought a lot of stuff and I need the money, frankly,” he joked in an interview with AP News.

The film’s post-credits scene teased what’s coming next, with the debut of Amy Rose and Metal Sonic. Both characters are expected to appear in Sonic the Hedgehog 4, which is currently in development and slated for release on March 19, 2027. Carrey hasn’t confirmed his involvement, but hinted he’s open to returning. “If I go, ‘That sounds fun,’ then I’ll do it,” he told Cinema Today.

For now, fans can look forward to rewatching Sonic the Hedgehog 3 when it hits Prime Video on June 20.
