The Sonic the Hedgehog film franchise continues to grow, and fans are buzzing with speculation about which characters might join the cinematic universe next. Among the favorites is Charmy Bee, a key member of the Chaotix Detective Agency in Sonic lore. In a recent interview with Screen Rant for the digital release of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Colleen O’Shaughnessey—who voices Tails and also lends her voice to Charmy in the video games—shared her excitement about the possibility of bringing Charmy to the films.

O’Shaughnessey expressed enthusiasm for reprising her role as Charmy, saying, “I mean, how cool would that be to get to have two characters? There’s been more Charmy in the games of late, so I feel like don’t count anything out. Who knows, that would be amazing. I would love it. I think that would be so very cool.”

Charmy Bee made his first appearance in 1995’s Knuckles’ Chaotix, a Sega 32X spin-off that introduced the Chaotix Detective Agency, featuring Espio the Chameleon and Vector the Crocodile. Known for his upbeat personality and knack for comedic relief, Charmy plays a vital role in the dynamic of the trio.

Although the Chaotix have not been mentioned in the Sonic films so far, Charmy remains a recurring figure in the games, appearing in titles like Sonic Origins and the remastered Sonic Generations. Should he make his cinematic debut, it would likely be alongside Espio and Vector, as their group dynamic is central to their appeal.

Adding Charmy Bee and the Chaotix to the films would bring a new layer of depth to the franchise and delight longtime fans. With Sonic the Hedgehog 3 hinting at the inclusion of Metal Sonic and Amy Rose, it’s clear the series is ready to expand its character roster further in Sonic the Hedgehog 4.

While O’Shaughnessey is eager to voice Charmy on the big screen, the franchise’s trend of casting high-profile actors—like Idris Elba as Knuckles and Keanu Reeves as Shadow—could mean a celebrity voice might step in for the character. Still, her dedication to Charmy could make her a natural choice.

Though no official word on the Chaotix has been released, the franchise’s growth and success make it likely that these beloved characters could appear in future films. Fans can only wait to see if the quirky detective trio finds their way into the Sonic cinematic universe.
