The official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account announced yesterday that Sonic will feature in “Samba de Amigo: Party Central” for the Nintendo Switch alongside Amigo, a longtime Sonic Team alumni. The game will include popular Sonic songs such as “Fist Bump” from Sonic Forces and “Escape from the City” from Sonic Adventure 2.

Samba de Amigo is a rhythm game series created by Sonic Team. The original game was first released in Japan in 1999 for arcades, and later ported to the SEGA Dreamcast and Nintendo Wii, where Sonic made an appearance in a few songs. The game is usually played with maraca-shaped peripherals, and the objective is to match the patterns on screen in time with the song being played.
