In a surprise soft launch, Sonic Blitz, a previously leaked Sonic mobile game, has officially released in the Philippines on the Google Play Store.

Published by Rovio, the game combines fast-paced Sonic action with strategic card-based combat. Players collect character cards from across the franchise and build customized decks to battle in lane-based matches. The gameplay centers around timing, placement, and powerful “Unique Dash Attacks” that can shift momentum during fights.
The character roster runs deep. In addition to mainstays like Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, the game includes lesser-known faces such as Chip, Marine, Ray the Flying Squirrel, Motobug, and even Ricky, one of the classic animals rescued in the original games. This wide selection adds variety and fan appeal for longtime Sonic followers.
Cards are earned through booster packs, similar to systems seen in games like Marvel Snap. Visually, the game leans on familiar character renders and artwork, wrapped in a fast-moving interface built for mobile play.
Early screenshots showcase the game’s blend of collection and combat. While SEGA has not confirmed a global release, the soft launch strongly suggests one is coming soon.

If you’re in the Philippines, you can download the game now from the Google Play Store. Everyone else will have to wait.
