The impressive new GTA 6 trailer has fans buzzing, giving a deeper look at the game’s protagonists, Lucia and Jason, and the supporting cast. While the internet races to uncover the voice actors behind these leads, one thing is certain — it’s not Sonic the Hedgehog’s own Roger Craig Smith behind Jason.
Naturally, the GTA fanbase has gone full detective mode, trying to match voices to actors. This speculation has prompted some prominent voice actors to step forward and set the record straight. Over a year ago, The Last of Us actor Troy Baker denied rumors linking him to Jason. Now, Roger Craig Smith — known for voicing Sonic the Hedgehog, Ezio from Assassin’s Creed, and Chris Redfield from Resident Evil — has also cleared the air.
Smith took to Twitter with a simple post: “Nope. Not me. Just to clarify. #GTA6.” When that wasn’t enough, he followed up: “LITERALLY attempting to clarify that it is NOT my voice in that trailer. Just to clarify my earlier clarification.” Despite distancing himself from the project, Smith praised the GTA 6 trailer, calling it “amazing.”
Currently, fans believe Gregory Connors may voice Jason and Manni L. Perez could be Lucia. This aligns with Rockstar’s trend of casting lesser-known talent for major roles, as seen with Red Dead Redemption 2’s Arthur (Roger Clark) and GTA 5’s Trevor (Steven Ogg). There’s also speculation that veteran actor Stephen Root may voice one of the game’s elder characters, given his familiar tone from King of the Hill.
While fans continue to speculate, one thing’s clear: Roger Craig Smith is not part of GTA 6’s voice cast — but we’ll be watching to see which actors officially take the wheel.

Glad to hear that RCS (Roger Craig Smith) is not in Grand Theft Auto 6.
