Thanks to a list found on the United States Copyright Office, we now know that the Sonic the Hedgehog movie universe will be able to take inspiration from or make adaptations based on 10 selected games. The games in question are the following:
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- Sonic the Hedgehog 2
- Sonic the Hedgehog CD
- Sonic the Hedgehog 3
- Sonic Adventure
- Sonic Adventure 2
- Sonic Heroes
- Sonic Riders
- Sonic the Hedgehog 2006
- Sonic Colors
According to the listing, the copyright was filed on January 22, 2019, just a few weeks away from the release of the first Sonic Movie. With the advent of this new information, we can’t help but wonder how a Sonic Riders or a Sonic ’06 story would play out in the Sonic movie universe. Maybe there’s still hope that we’ll get to see Metal Sonic and the Chaotix Detective Agency on the big screen!
