On Jun 2021, twitter user iamamazing100 managed to get his hands on a very rare piece of Sonic history – an arcade cabinet of SegaSonic Cosmo Fighter, which is already rare to see, but this one has an English translation!

SegaSonic Cosmo Fighter is a children’s ride released in March 1993 as part of Sega’s “Wakuwaku” line used exclusively in Japan, however it looks like this one had a very limited release outside of the land of the rising sun, being used in Sega World Sydney, an indoor, high-tech amusement park that was opened in 1997 and closed down in 2000 due to lack of visitors.

Today, almost 2 years after this amazing discovery, iamamazing100 finally managed to dump and release the ROM online for preservation. The is currently no support for it on the MAME emulator but no doubt this will be fixed in a future update. In the meantime, you can download the ROM by clicking here. There will also be a full scan of the manual available soon, so stay tuned for that update!

You can also get a clearer listen of the voice acting featured in the game and a quick playthrough bellow.

Thank you @iamamazing100! You truly are amazing!
