A new collaboration is bringing the Blue Blur into the world of contemporary art. Richard Orlinski has partnered with SEGA to create an exclusive art piece celebrating the 35th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog.

The limited-edition collectible reimagines Sonic the Hedgehog through Orlinski’s distinctive faceted pop-art style. Known for his angular sculptural designs, the artist applies sharp geometric surfaces and a glossy finish to Sonic’s recognizable silhouette, creating a piece that blends gaming iconography with contemporary art aesthetics.
The sculpture emphasizes dynamic lines that suggest motion, reflecting Sonic’s speed-focused identity while showcasing Orlinski’s signature visual language. Finished in a vibrant glossy blue, the figure presents a sleek interpretation of the character designed to function as both a collectible and decorative art object.

The project also marks the first time Orlinski has reinterpreted a video game character, placing Sonic within the broader space of pop culture-inspired contemporary art.
The collectible will be released as an ultra-limited vinyl art toy measuring 18 cm × 15.3 cm × 12.5 cm and weighing 223 grams including packaging. Produced with a glossy blue finish, the figure is intended as a display piece rather than a traditional play item.
The Sonic x Orlinski sculpture will be available during a limited drop window running March 11 through March 17, with the collectible priced at €170.
By merging Sonic’s long-standing cultural presence with Orlinski’s sculptural style, the collaboration highlights how the character continues to expand beyond games and films into new artistic spaces.
