Rumors of a Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration with Fortnite are heating up after dataminers discovered Sonic-branded shoe textures hidden in the game’s files. If true, this would mark the first official crossover between SEGA’s Blue Blur and Epic Games’ massively popular battle royale.

The leaked assets suggest Sonic’s sneakers are modeled after the PUMA x Sonic the Hedgehog shoes released a few years ago, while Shadow’s design appears to draw from the upcoming PUMA children’s sneaker line. That collection was just revealed as part of SEGA and PUMA’s new capsule arriving this fall. You can catch up on that collaboration in our full coverage below:

Another dataminer has since shared 3D models of the Sonic x Fortnite shoes, offering a closer look at how they could appear in-game. While these are only textures and models for now, Fortnite’s long history of pop culture tie-ins makes the idea of a full Sonic collaboration feel increasingly possible.

SEGA has leaned heavily into crossovers this year, from Nickelodeon content in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds to Sonic’s recent appearance in Squad Busters, and with an upcoming collaboration in PUBG Mobile expected to drop on October 3, 2025, a Fortnite partnership would hardly be out of character. For now, though, this remains firmly in rumor territory until Epic or SEGA provide official confirmation.
