If you’ve been waiting for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds to get seriously cheap, Amazon has picked a pretty good week to cave.
As part of Prime Big Deal Days, Amazon has cut the physical Amazon Exclusive Edition to just $19.99 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, while the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition has dropped to $29.99. The prices are available to Prime members and are listed while promotional stock lasts.
That puts the Switch, PS5 and Xbox versions at less than a third of their original $60-$70 launch prices, with the Amazon edition also including the retailer’s exclusive double-sided poster.

The Switch 2 version is the slightly more interesting deal. The release contains the Nintendo Switch game plus the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack. It also carries the Werehog Pack branding and notes that the upgrade itself can be purchased separately.
That lines up with SEGA’s existing upgrade setup. The standard Nintendo Switch version can be upgraded to the Switch 2 Edition for $10, unlocking the higher-resolution and higher-frame-rate version while carrying over the player’s existing content and progress.

In other words, Amazon’s current prices work out rather neatly for Nintendo players. Buying the $19.99 Switch copy and adding the $10 Switch 2 upgrade separately comes to essentially the same $29.99 as Amazon’s discounted Switch 2 package, although the latter keeps everything together in one retail release.
Sonic City previously covered the physical Switch 2 Edition when it reached stores earlier this year, including its Werehog Pack bonus. At the time, the Switch 2 release carried a $69.99 price tag.
Prime Big Deal Days runs through October 7, so this one has a fairly short clock attached to it. Amazon also notes that the discounted copies are subject to availability.
At $19.99, that’s a lot of CrossWorlds for the price of a couple of DLC packs.
