The Diamond Cutters are heading to the track!
SEGA has confirmed that the free Tangle & Whisper Content Drop for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds launches today, February 25, 2026, adding both characters as playable racers.
Tangle the Lemur and Whisper the Wolf expand the game’s roster with direct representation from the IDW comic universe. While the update does not introduce unique karts for the duo, both characters will be fully playable across all standard race modes.
Alongside the character drop, SEGA will roll out a limited-time Tangle & Whisper Festival beginning February 26 and running through March 1. During the Festival:
- World Match mode will be temporarily unavailable
- A 2x Point Up Chance reward will activate at a 50 percent rate
- Players are encouraged to form Squads using Tangle and Whisper
The event is designed to spotlight their arrival and celebrate their role as members of the Diamond Cutters within Sonic lore.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is currently available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The racer features 24 tracks, 15 CrossWorlds accessed through Travel Rings, and a mix of land, sea, air, and space racing mechanics.
With ongoing content drops continuing to expand the lineup, CrossWorlds remains one of SEGA’s most crossover-focused Sonic titles, blending characters from across games and comics into a single competitive experience.
