Sonic Team boss Takashi Iizuka has revealed in a Q&A during BGS (Brasil Game Fest) that he’s no longer thinking about what can be remade or remastered, instead focusing entirely on creating new adventures for the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise.
Iizuka explained that his personal goal is to continue expanding the Sonic universe through fresh and original projects, rather than reworking past titles.
“I’ve always worked over the past 30 years with the goal of creating something new,” Iizuka said. “Even now, I spend every day thinking about new projects, so unless there’s a real need for it, I don’t really think much about remakes or remasters.”
In the same Q&A, Iizuka also addressed the possibility of more character themed years in the future, along with the possibility of including Brazilian-Portuguese dubs in future games.
