IDW Publishing and SEGA have announced Super Sonic Monthly, a brand-new fan-first column dedicated to everything Sonic the Hedgehog in comics. Inspired by other popular industry columns such as TMNT Tuesday and X-Men Monday, the feature will serve as the official source for previews, exclusive art, behind-the-scenes commentary, and updates straight from the Sonic editorial team.
The column also invites fans to take part directly, with an ongoing survey where readers can submit questions to IDW’s Sonic creators and editors. Whether you’ve been following the series since its launch or are just starting out, Super Sonic Monthly is designed to be the ultimate inside track to Sonic’s comic book adventures.
The launch coincides with the release of Sonic the Hedgehog #81, which kicks off a brand-new story arc and serves as an ideal jumping-on point for new readers. The debut column even included an exclusive look at interior artwork from the issue.
Fans should also mark their calendars for two key dates in September:
- September 15 – Final chance to pre-order Sonic the Hedgehog #82 and the Chaotix 30th Anniversary Special.
- September 30 – Release of Sonic the Hedgehog: On the Go Vol. 1, a new collection that brings together the first 12 issues from volumes 1–3 for just $13.99.
With Super Sonic Monthly, fans now have a dedicated hub to celebrate IDW’s Sonic stories, connect with the creative team, and get an early look at what’s coming next in Sonic’s ever-expanding comic universe.
