The Minecraft Sonic Add-On by Gamemode One has just received its first major update since its debut in January 2025. While attention has largely shifted toward the Minecraft movie, which premiered shortly after the add-on’s release, the Sonic content hasn’t been left behind.
Now available, the latest update introduces Super Sonic and Super Shadow, bringing chaos-charged speed and power to Minecraft’s blocky landscapes. These two super forms mark the first content addition to the add-on in several months.
Outside of the new characters, the update does not appear to include any major gameplay changes or additional features. Still, it’s a welcome sign that Gamemode One is continuing to support the project. Whether this update is a one-off surprise or the start of more regular additions remains to be seen.
