The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea has rated an unannounced Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition, suggesting that a new version of the game may be on the way.

While SEGA has yet to officially confirm the release, ratings from the Korean board have a history of accurately surfacing upcoming projects ahead of announcement. Most notably, Sonic Origins Plus was first revealed through a similar listing before its official debut.

Sonic Frontiers originally launched on November 8, 2022 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The title went on to achieve at least 4.57 million units in lifetime sales and received multiple free post-launch content updates that expanded its gameplay and features.

The appearance of a Definitive Edition follows a pattern seen with recent Sonic releases. Sonic Mania received an expanded version through Sonic Mania Plus, while Sonic Origins was later updated with Sonic Origins Plus, both adding new content and refinements to their base experiences.

At this stage, no details have been shared regarding what Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition may include. However, based on previous releases, fans can likely expect additional content, improvements, or bundled updates if the title is officially announced.

For now, the rating serves as the first indication that Sonic Frontiers may be returning in a new form.
