DC has released its full June 2026 solicitations, and for Sonic fans the standout is DC x Sonic: Metal Legion #2, arriving June 3, 2026.

The issue is written by Ian Flynn with art by Adam Bryce Thomas. The main cover is illustrated by Pablo M. Collar, with variant covers by R1C0 and Daniele Di Nicuolo. It runs 32 pages at $3.99, with card stock variants priced at $4.99.

The new solicitation makes one thing clear. The story is escalating fast.

The worlds of the Justice League and Team Sonic are now fully connected, and Dr. Eggman is officially working with the Legion of Doom. That alone shifts the crossover from a standard team-up into something much bigger, with both worlds now under threat from a coordinated villain alliance.

The official synopsis reads:

DR. EGGMAN JOINS THE LEGION OF DOOM! The worlds of the Justice League and Sonic the Hedgehog have become linked! Pulling the strings is the sinister Legion of Doom with the help of their newest member: Dr. Eggman! The pit of vipers is full of treachery and deceit, but they’re even more dangerous when they set their sights on the Justice League and the Sonic Heroes! Will the villains succeed in taking out the heroes in one fell swoop!? Will both worlds fall to the Legion of Doom?!

Compared to the first issue setup, this is a major step forward. Eggman is not just caught in the middle of the crossover. He is actively aligned with one of DC’s most dangerous villain groups, which raises the stakes immediately.

It also puts him in familiar territory. Eggman has always worked best when surrounded by other villains, especially when there is an opportunity to outmaneuver them. While the solicitation does not say it outright, it is hard to ignore what that setup usually leads to.

Metal Legion is the second chapter in a five-issue sequel to 2025’s original DC x Sonic the Hedgehog crossover. With Ian Flynn and Adam Bryce Thomas returning, the series continues to build on that foundation while pushing the scale further.

June’s wider DC lineup includes titles tied to the DC All In initiative, along with new releases like Justice League: Dream Girls and ongoing series across the main DC lineup. For Sonic readers, though, Metal Legion #2 is the key release to watch.
