SEGA has revealed new details about the upcoming Patch 3 update for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, confirming that several crossover characters from across the wider SEGA universe will soon join the game as free downloadable content.
The update is scheduled to launch on March 18 at 5 PM PT, bringing new playable racers, themed vehicles, and additional music tracks to the game’s jukebox system. All announced content will be available to players at no additional cost.
One of the first crossover characters arriving through the new content lineup is Red from the Angry Birds series. Red will become a playable racer beginning in April 2026, arriving alongside a themed vehicle called the Super Roaster.
Also joining the roster in April is Goro Majima, appearing in his Captain Majima persona from the Like a Dragon series. Majima will race using a custom vehicle known as Goromaru.
The crossover lineup will continue in May 2026 with the addition of Arle Nadja, the longtime protagonist of the Puyo Puyo series. Arle will arrive with her own themed kart called the Twinkle Bayoen, referencing her signature magical attack.
Alongside the new racers, Patch 3 will also expand the game’s jukebox feature with eight additional music tracks pulled from SEGA’s classic arcade catalog and other fan-favorite titles.
The newly added tracks include:
• “MAGICAL SOUND SHOWER” by Hiro (from OutRun)
• “Let’s Go Away” by Takenobu Mitsuyoshi (from Daytona USA)
• “Soul on Desert” by Jun Senoue (from SEGA Rally 2)
• “Like the Wind (B Course) – Arcade Version” by Hiro (from Power Drift)
• “Outside a Crisis” by Katsuhiro “Funky K.H” Hayashi (from Super Hang-On)
• “Main Theme” by Hiro (from Enduro Racer)
• “God Only Knows” by A-One
• “Like the Wind (Reborn)” by Sampling Masters MEGA (from Power Drift)
These additions further expand CrossWorlds’ celebration of SEGA history by incorporating music from several of the company’s classic arcade racing titles.
With crossover racers from Angry Birds, Like a Dragon, and Puyo Puyo joining the lineup, the Patch 3 update continues positioning Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds as a crossover-heavy celebration of SEGA franchises and gaming history.
More details about the update and additional features are expected to be revealed closer to launch.
