Tangle & Whisper Now Playable in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds as Free Content Drop

SEGA has officially rolled out the free Tangle & Whisper Content Drop for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, bringing the IDW fan-favorite duo to the track!

Players can now race as Tangle the Lemur and Whisper the Wolf, both inspired by their appearances in the IDW Sonic the Hedgehog comic series. The update is available at no additional cost for owners of the Standard edition, physical or digital, as well as the Digital Deluxe edition. An internet connection is required to claim the add-on, and players should ensure their game is updated to the latest version.

The Content Drop includes:

• Tangle as a playable racer
• Whisper as a playable racer
• Two new songs added to the Jukebox:
  • “Tangle & Whisper: Character Select”
  • “Tangle & Whisper: Result”
    (These tracks cannot be set as in-race BGM.)
• Special themed emotes and sounds

To celebrate their arrival, SEGA will also launch the in-game Tangle & Whisper Festival running from February 26, 2026 at 7:00 PM EDT through March 1, 2026 at 6:59 PM EDT.

During the Festival, players can earn Festival Points through special online race challenges to unlock themed items such as stickers, horns, and gadgets. SEGA notes that:

• Gadgets obtainable during the Festival may be distributed again in future live updates
• Festival rewards may become available through other methods later
• Deleting save data will permanently remove earned Festival rewards, which cannot be reclaimed

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, with pricing starting at $69.99 USD on most platforms and $59.99 USD on Nintendo Switch.

With the Diamond Cutters officially joining the roster, CrossWorlds continues expanding its celebration of Sonic’s wider universe across games and comics.
