SEGA has officially announced its first Sonic the Hedgehog audio drama series, titled Sonic the Hedgehog Presents: The Chaotix Casefiles. The narrative podcast is produced by SEGA of America in partnership with Realm, with Realm handling global distribution and advertising representation. The series premieres worldwide on January 27, 2026, across all major podcast platforms.
Styled after classic detective radio dramas, The Chaotix Casefiles marks Sonic’s first dedicated audio-only storytelling project. The series centers on the Chaotix Detective Agency as they take on their most ambitious mystery yet, blending noir-style narration with the energy and humor of the Sonic universe.

The podcast features the official Sonic video game voice cast reprising their roles, including Roger Craig Smith as Sonic the Hedgehog, Keith Silverstein as Vector the Crocodile, Matthew Mercer as Espio the Chameleon, and Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Charmy Bee. Additional characters from across the franchise will appear throughout the season.

The series is directed by Ian Jones-Quartey, with lead writing by Dan Jolley. The writers’ room also includes Ian Flynn and Evan Stanley. Original music is composed by Charlie Rosen, while sound design and post-production are handled by Realm producers Fred Greenhalgh and Dan Brunelle.
SEGA describes the project as a new pillar of Sonic storytelling, expanding the franchise into audio while remaining consistent with established lore and character portrayals. Sonic the Hedgehog Presents: The Chaotix Casefiles launches globally on January 27, 2026, and will be available wherever podcasts are streamed.
