SEGA has reason to celebrate, as Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds – The Animation has received an official nomination at the Annie Awards. The animated short has been nominated in the Best Sponsored Animated Production category at the 53rd Annie Awards, placing it among some of the strongest promotional animation work of the year.

The nomination highlights the quality and impact of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds – The Animation, which was produced as a companion piece to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. The short stood out for its dynamic action, striking art direction, and high-energy presentation that closely reflects the game’s fast-paced, arcade-inspired identity.

To mark the nomination, SEGA shared a dedicated poster celebrating the animation’s recognition by the wider animation industry. Whether the short ultimately takes home the award remains to be seen, but the nomination alone represents a notable achievement for the project and for Sonic-related animation.

The 53rd Annie Awards will honor their winners at a gala ceremony on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at UCLA’s Royce Hall, and Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds – The Animation now officially joins the lineup of nominees competing for top honors.
