Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is already known for its high-speed chaos, but SEGA’s next online event is about to take things to another level. The upcoming Festival focuses on the Minecraft collaboration, introducing new challenges that reward you for pelting rivals with items — all for a chance to unlock themed cosmetics.

Following its strong launch, which opened to 98% “Overwhelmingly Positive” reviews on Steam (currently sitting at 96%), CrossWorlds has been praised for its sharp driving mechanics and competitive balance. SEGA even described it as a game where “players who think strategically and race skillfully, not just those who get lucky” take home the win. That balance, however, is about to be put to the test.

The Minecraft Festival adds a range of new decals, player titles, and the coveted Minecraft Goat Horn, all obtainable through Festival Races. Players can rack up points by completing event challenges — including one that tasks you with hitting as many opponents as possible using items. In other words, staying at the front of the pack won’t be enough this time. To earn top rewards, even first-place racers will need to go on the offensive, filling the track with projectiles and chaos.

Another challenge spotlights the Spin Drift gadget, which spins your vehicle mid-drift, turning every corner into both a hazard and an opportunity to strike. It’s a bold, risk-reward mechanic that keeps tension high for anyone confident enough to stay on track.

The Minecraft Festival runs from October 9 at 8 PM ET through October 11 at 8 PM ET, giving players just a few days to collect their prizes — and to see who can survive the mayhem.
