SEGA has officially launched Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds worldwide today, September 25, and the surprises just keep coming. During Sony’s latest State of Play showcase, SEGA revealed that Mega Man and Proto Man are joining the game’s Season Pass roster, bringing Capcom’s Blue Bomber back into the spotlight alongside Sonic and friends.
The announcement came with a brand-new trailer showcasing the iconic duo racing through the newly unveiled Wily Castle course, joined by Mega Man’s faithful companion Rush, who appears as a new vehicle called the Rush Roadster. You can watch the full trailer here:

This “Mega Man Pack” expands an already stacked lineup of crossover content in the CrossWorlds Season Pass, which also includes collaborations with Minecraft, SpongeBob SquarePants, Pac-Man, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. On top of this, the Digital Deluxe Edition gives players access to Sonic Prime’s Knuckles the Dread, Rusty Rose, and Tails Nine.

The launch of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds marks SEGA’s boldest entry in the series yet, boasting the largest roster in Sonic racing history. Players can race across unpredictable tracks that shift mid-race with the Travel Ring mechanic, customize their rides with over 70 Gadgets, and compete in online cross-play with up to 12 players.

Mega Man’s addition feels especially fitting given his crossover history with Sonic in the Archie Comics’ Worlds Collide saga. Now, fans get to see that legacy continue on the racetrack, blending nostalgia with fresh excitement.
