Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is off to a flying start. Early Access opened yesterday for players who purchased the Digital Deluxe Edition, and fans on PC are already racing to give the game glowing feedback.
On Steam, the kart racer currently holds an impressive 98% “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating based on more than 1,300 reviews. Players are praising the game’s high-speed gameplay, inventive CrossWorlds mechanic, and the sheer variety of characters and customization options.
The strong reception follows equally positive reviews from critics earlier this week, many of whom highlighted the PS5 version as one of the best Sonic racing experiences to date.
The Early Access period runs until the official release of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds this Thursday, September 25. The game will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version also confirmed to be in development at SEGA.
With such a strong start, all signs point to CrossWorlds being the racing comeback Sonic fans have been waiting for.
