Paramount+ is now the exclusive streaming home for Sonic the Hedgehog 2. After a period of availability on Netflix, the 2022 hit has moved entirely to Paramount’s own service.
Released in April 2022, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 earned over $405 million worldwide, marking a key moment for video game movie adaptations. The film introduced Idris Elba as Knuckles the Echidna, whose breakout role led to the 2024 Knuckles spin-off series on Paramount+. The sequel’s success helped pave the way for Sonic the Hedgehog 3, which has since surpassed $492 million globally, with a fourth movie now in development.
The film remains a fan favorite for its fast-paced action, humor, and heart, as Sonic teams up with Tails to stop Dr. Robotnik and Knuckles from claiming the powerful Master Emerald.
The full trilogy is now available to stream on Paramount+, with Sonic the Hedgehog 3 also accessible on select services including Prime Video, Sling TV, and MGM+.
