SEGA has released a new update on the status of Sonic Rumble, addressing fan curiosity and reaffirming that the game’s global launch is still on track for later in 2025. The Sonic Rumble team shared a detailed development message, highlighting their ongoing progress and renewed focus on optimizing the game for all players.
“We’re dashing into your feed today with an update on Sonic Rumble’s Global Launch,” the message begins, acknowledging the excitement surrounding the toy-themed party multiplayer title. While the game may appear ready, the team emphasized that they are still fine-tuning the experience to deliver the best possible version at launch.
According to the statement, much more content is in development, including new characters, stages, gameplay features, and crossover events that haven’t been revealed yet. The developers stressed that they’re crafting a fresh and engaging experience designed to keep the action exciting for both new and returning players.
A key development focus right now is improving the onboarding experience for new players who haven’t participated in earlier testing phases. Some changes may not be immediately visible to returning players, but they’re aimed at creating a more polished and balanced gameplay environment across the board.
“We feel a special responsibility to get this right for the entire Sonic community and to deliver a competitive, party multiplayer experience that keeps everyone happy and engaged,” the team wrote.
SEGA also clarified that placeholder dates shown on app stores are not final and that the actual release date will be announced at a later time.
Fans can expect the official global release sometime in 2025, with more updates to come. “Your support keeps us moving full speed ahead,” the team concluded.
