Following last week’s McLaren Racing event in London, where SEGA debuted a brand-new Sonic manga at their activation booth, the company has now made the full comic publicly available. Titled Sonic the Hedgehog: Blue Racer, the one-shot manga was posted in full across SEGA’s official social media channels.

Blue Racer is a rare collaboration between Sonic creatives from both the East and West. The manga is written by longtime Sonic comic writer Ian Flynn, illustrated by Yuuki Imada, known for Sonic and the Blade of Courage, and colored by Min Ho Kim. This marks the first time the Western Sonic comic team and the Japanese manga team have worked together on a single project.

The story features a surprise setting as the race passes through Radical City, a fan-favorite track from Sonic R. It’s a fitting throwback that mixes nostalgia with speed and style.

And yes, even silent comics involve writing. The script guides the plot, pacing, panel actions, character expressions, and overall visual storytelling.

There is currently no word on whether Sonic the Hedgehog: Blue Racer will receive a widely available physical release. Given the talent involved, many fans are hoping for another opportunity to snag a print version in the future.
