The cover art for Sonic the Hedgehog #69 showcases three distinct designs, each hinting at the thrilling adventures awaiting fans. Cover A, crafted by series artist Min Ho Kim, depicts Sonic leading the pack in a heart-pounding race, with Amy Rose and Tails hot on his heels, accompanied by a cast of familiar characters in the background. Sonic the Hedgehog Artists Share Insights on New Designs
Evan Stanley helms IDW’s Sonic the Hedgehog series, with artists Min Ho Kim and Aaron Hammerstrom lending their talents to illustrate the new arc. Kim, responsible for the artwork in issue #69, shared his enthusiasm for the fresh designs featured in the upcoming storyline. “In addition to teasing some new character costumes in the previews, we have a plethora of designs sprinkled throughout the arc! Among those showcased on the covers, Whisper’s design stands out as a personal favorite,” Kim revealed. “Yet, the best is yet to come, and I urge everyone to stay tuned for what’s in store in issue 69 and beyond!”
Hammerstrom reflected on the challenge of capturing the essence of the Sonic the Hedgehog video games, particularly the iconic character outfits featured in Sonic Riders. “When you think of the Sonic Riders games, the unique outfits of each character immediately come to mind. We were thrilled to contribute designs that seamlessly integrate with the Sonic Riders aesthetic,” Hammerstrom remarked. “Our goal was to create designs that wouldn’t look out of place in an actual Sonic Riders game. I hope fans will appreciate the effort we’ve put into this arc and enjoy the exhilarating ride!”
