SEGA has officially rolled out the free Super Monkey Ball content update for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, bringing AiAi to the starting grid and launching a new wave of crossover content.

Available now, the update adds AiAi as a fully playable racer. He joins the roster with his signature machine, the Banana Cruiser, recreated for the high-speed tracks of CrossWorlds. The update also expands the in-game Jukebox with four tracks from the Super Monkey Ball series:

  • “Race”
  • “Menu Theme”
  • “Jingle from Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble”
  • “Banana Farm”

Select tracks can be set as race background music directly from the Jukebox menu. The content drop also includes themed emotes and sound effects, offering additional customization options for players.

All players who own the Standard edition, physical or digital, or the Digital Deluxe edition will receive the content automatically after updating the game to the latest version.

Alongside the character update, SEGA has confirmed a limited-time collaboration event titled the Super Monkey Ball Festival. Running from February 13 at 9:00 JST through February 16 at 8:59 JST, the online event divides players into three teams competing in special rule-based races. Players can earn Festa Points to unlock exclusive in-game items such as stickers and horns. SEGA has noted that certain rewards may be redistributed in future updates, but items earned during the event cannot be reclaimed if save data is deleted.

In addition to the update and event, the Digital Deluxe Edition of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is currently available at 40% off on the PlayStation Store and Nintendo eShop for a limited time.

SEGA also confirmed that a bonus “SONIC ART” Shadow Sakura sticker will be distributed to all players who log in and play between February 13 and February 27. The sticker will be delivered beginning March 18 at 7:00PM ET and can be used in machine customization.

For those who have not yet picked up the game, a free demo remains available across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Series S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and Epic Games Store. Progress made in the demo can be carried over to the full version.
