The Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds tie-in animation premiered last Friday during the latest Sonic the Hedgehog livestream on YouTube and Twitch. The short has since been uploaded separately to YouTube, allowing fans to watch it anytime.
The annual animated short has become a staple of SEGA’s modern Sonic marketing, and this year’s entry may be the most stylish yet. Presented without dialogue and backed by a high-energy soundtrack, the short captures the chaos and flair of CrossWorlds entirely through visuals and music.
For longtime fans, the biggest surprise is the inclusion of the Babylon Rogues and Silver the Hedgehog, marking the first time these characters have appeared in an animated project outside of the games.
