

SEGA has officially unveiled Project ONSOKU, a special collaboration between Sonic the Hedgehog and Hatsune Miku that brings together Sonic’s world of speed and Miku’s virtual stage of music. The project will deliver five brand-new songs and music videos by five acclaimed artists, released weekly in the countdown to the launch of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds on September 25, 2025. Each track will also be available as in-game BGM for races.
The first track, “Sai’ai Jinsei Runner” by Kairiki Bear, is out today with a newly illustrated cover by Nou. Kairiki Bear described the song as capturing “the thrill and heartbeat of meeting Sonic for the first time,” hoping players will feel an inner spark to run after listening.

Miku in CrossWorlds
As previously announced, Hatsune Miku will be playable as a free DLC racer in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, alongside her custom vehicle, the Diva Machina, available via a free update after launch.





Events and Extras
Project ONSOKU will also be featured at Hatsune Miku Magical Mirai 2025 Tokyo (August 29–31), where SEGA will host a booth with exclusive photo spots, collectible postcards, and a special acrylic stand for attendees who present proof of a CrossWorlds pre-order.
Meanwhile, the CrossWorlds Open Network Test begins tomorrow, running from August 29 to September 2 across PS5, Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic Games. Fans can also look forward to the limited-time Persona 5 Royal Joker Festival event on August 31.

With five new music releases, exclusive in-game content, and special fan events, Project ONSOKU highlights one of the most unique crossovers in Sonic’s history, uniting the voices of Hatsune Miku with the speed of Sonic the Hedgehog.
