The highly anticipated live-action Knuckles spinoff series, set in the Sonic the Hedgehog movie universe, has announced the addition of five new cast members. Joining the project are Cary Elwes, Stockard Channing, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, and Rob Huebel.
The series, which takes place between Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and the third film in the franchise, will feature Idris Elba reprising his role as the voice of Knuckles, as he did in the film. Returning cast members also include Adam Pally, Edi Patterson, Julian Barratt, Scott Mescudi, and Ellie Taylor. Guest stars such as Rory McCann and Tika Sumpter, reprising her role as Maddie, are expected to make appearances.
The show’s official logline reveals that Knuckles will mentor and train Wade, portrayed by Adam Pally, to become an Echidna Warrior. The pilot episode is being directed by Jeff Fowler, the director of both Sonic the Hedgehog films, who also serves as an executive producer. John Whittington, a screenwriter for Sonic the Hedgehog 2, has written the pilot and heads the writing team as an executive producer.
The series is set to premiere on Paramount+ and promises to deliver an exciting extension of the Sonic the Hedgehog movie universe.
