IDW Publishing has announced an exciting new comic one-shot centered on Shadow the Hedgehog, titled Chasing Shadows. This 32-page standalone issue marks Shadow’s first solo outing in the IDW Sonic universe and is slated for release in March 2025.
The comic is written by Kiel Phegley, with interior artwork by Mauro Fonseca. Fans can also look forward to striking covers created by Mauro Fonseca and Miles Arq. Notably, while Jon Gray was originally listed as a contributor, he stepped back from the project before its completion.
In Chasing Shadows, the enigmatic and stoic Shadow finds himself in an old, secluded village far removed from the modern world. As strange events unfold, Shadow uncovers eerie clues that hint at a sinister secret lurking within the village and its mysterious inhabitants. The story promises an intense blend of action and suspense as Shadow grapples with uncovering the truth and escaping the dangers surrounding him.
Shadow remains one of the most popular characters in the Sonic franchise, known for his dark and complex personality. While he’s played key roles in ensemble stories, Chasing Shadows provides an opportunity for deeper exploration of his character in a standalone narrative.
