I'll overcome every obstacle with this power!

Shadow the Hedgehog, Shadow Generations

The Doom Wing is a move that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Doom Power used by Shadow the Hedgehog that allows him to grow wings and utilize them to fly around.

Description[edit | edit source]

When using Doom Wing, Shadow grows a pair of black fleshy wings with red patterns. Shadow is able to use said-wings to destroy enemies and fly in the air.

Game appearances[edit | edit source]

Shadow Generations[edit | edit source]

In Shadow Generations, it is one of many Doom Powers that Shadow the Hedgehog can utilize to his advantage. In gameplay, the player can fly in the air and traverse through different paths. Additionally, the player is granted invincibility so long as the move remains active, making it somewhat similar to a super transformation.

Doom Wing is the final Doom Power to be unlocked, though it is the first Shadow gains access to, though unintentionally. To unlock this power, all three eyes on the Black Moon must be open. To open the eye, Shadow must pick up a jewel-like object that resembles the Black Arms logo during the Doom Zone after hitting Doom's Eye. Once unlocked, it triggers the endgame and allows access to Radical Highway. After it is unlocked, Doom Wing can be enabled in any stage; however, due to its benefits, a stage cleared with Doom Wing has its own score, record, and ranking.

Unlike other Doom Powers, there are some restrictions when using this power.

  • In general condition, to activate Doom Wing the player needs to press both Quick Step buttons with at least 50 Rings in possession. During activation, the Ring count decreases by one per second, like a super transformation, and if the Ring count hits zero, the power will be deactivated. While in the air, hold the Boost button to fly. Boost energy is consumed, though after landing the gauge will be fully replenished, rings can also replenish the boost energy in mid air too.
    • Doom Wing will be automatically deactivated if Shadow is entering the downslope sliding section.
    • In the case of the boss fight against Neo Devil Doom, Boost energy is unlimited. Shadow will have to retry if Doom Wing is deactivated.
  • In stages where Doom Wing automatically activates, the player will be given 50 Rings, even if they have fewer before the activation cutscene begins. In the boss fight against Neo Devil Doom, 100 Rings are given instead.

To use Doom Wing in gameplay, the player has to press Template:L Button (Switch)/Template:LB Button (Xbox One)/L1 and Template:R Button (Switch)/Template:RB Button (Xbox One)/R1 with at least 50 rings in possession.

Other game appearances[edit | edit source]

Sonic Speed Simulator[edit | edit source]

In Sonic Speed Simulator, the Doom Wing appears as part of Doom Shadow to promote the release of Sonic X Shadow Generations. When the wings are activated, Doom Shadow gains the ability to Double Jump, by flapping them. Additionally, he can also perform a Glide when in mid-air. Performing an Air Boost will allow him to fly. He also gains access to perform Doom Spears. The wings disappear when the Super gauge runs out.
