The Sonic Super Specials constituted a collection of special edition 48-page comics within the Sonic the Hedgehog series published by Archie Comics. These specials were released on a quarterly basis from 1997 to 2001, totaling fifteen editions. Several of the narratives from these specials were later reprinted in the Sonic Select and Sonic the Hedgehog Archives series. In October 2011, Archie Comics introduced a fresh series titled Sonic Super Special Magazines, which consisted of five previous issues from the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog series. This new series also followed a quarterly publication schedule.
