The Sega Mega Drive Mini 2, also known as the Sega Genesis Mini 2 in North America, is a miniature replica of the Sega Mega Drive Model 2 video game console released by Sega. It features fifty games ported by M2, including Sonic the Hedgehog CD and Sonic 3D Blast, and was released on 27 October 2022. It includes a cosmetic attachment that looks like a smaller version of the Sega CD accessory. The attachment includes a spacer to mount the original Mega Drive Mini, which is slightly larger than its successor. The Sega CD attachment costs ¥4,500. Currently, the Sega Mega Drive Mini 2 has only been released in Japan and North America, sold in the latter region through Amazon Japan in limited supply due to the ongoing semiconductor shortage.[1][2][3] The console comes with a SHARP Cyber Stick controller at release in Japan.[4]
