In 2021, it was announced that a Classic Sonic the Hedgehog-themed set will be produced as part of the Lego Ideas line.[1] The set was later released on 1 January 2022. A key chain of the Sonic minifigure will release on 1 August 2023.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • In the "Amy's Animal Rescue Island" set, Amy's Piko Piko Hammer has an original design that uses pink faces, with a heart on one end. Unlike in the "Sonic's Green Hill Zone Loop Challenge" set, where her hammer uses its standard design with yellow faces.
  • In the Lego Dimensions collaboration, Dr. Eggman uses a custom mold for his design. In the "Green Hill Zone" set, his design is changed and is put together using individual pieces. In other sets released afterwards, his design is changed once again and more closely resembles the traditional Lego minifigure, although without a separate head piece; this design is carried over into both Sonic Forces: Speed Battle and Sonic Superstars.
  • In the "Sonic's Speed Sphere Challenge" set, a red and white parasol, a chili dog, a white and turquoise striped beach chair, and a cooler of Chaos Cola are featured. This setup appears to be modeled after a similar one seen on cover B of Sonic the Hedgehog #41.
    • This similarity is more apparent on the back of the set's box, which places the setup against an ocean background resembling that seen on the aforenoted cover.
  • Near the end of Lego Sonic the Hedgehog (2023) sets announcement, Sonic's torso is incorrect as his LEGO Ideas counterpart’s (Classic Sonic) is used instead, using a perfect circle for the belly rather than an upside-down egg shape.
  • All of the Badniks in the 2023 set have a small space in which they can hold a captive animal inside.
  • In the LEGO® Sonic Show Mishap trailer, one of the viewers of the stream is Kirk Thornton; Shadow the Hedgehog's current voice actor who also plays him within the trailer.
    • Karen Strassman, voice actress of Rouge the Bat, is also seen in the chat.
    • Takashi Iizuka can also be spotted in the chat in one of the frames alongside other popular streamers within the Sonic community.
    • Alpharad and GamesCage, two popular YouTubers that have done numerous Sonic content before, also appear as cameos within the chat.
  • With the "Super Shadow vs. Biolizard" set, it is notable for including the first ever action figure and merchandise of the Biolizard.
