The '''Xbox Series X''' and '''Series S''', initially known as '''Project Scarlett''', is a line of home video game consoles released by [[Microsoft]] and is the successor to the [[Xbox One]] line. It was released on 10 November 2020 as part of the ninth generation of consoles, competing against the [[PlayStation 5]] and [[Nintendo Switch]]. Series S is a weaker version of the much more powerful Series X. Both consoles are also compatible with the Xbox One.
