Despite how simple they appear, Eggman's glasses are in fact highly advanced technological eyewear. Like his glasses, Eggman's jacket is equipped with several gadgets that can be activated with the press of some hidden buttons. When racing with [[Extreme Gear]], Eggman is known to use gadgets such as comically large party poppers and mechanical boxing gloves to [[Attacks in the Sonic Riders series|attack]] his opponents.

During the [[Chaos]] [[Sonic Adventure|incident]], the doctor briefly used a small, unseen object that allowed him to teleport himself and other desired subjects somewhere else. In the IDW Comics, Eggman has been known to wield weapons on different occasions, including a small laser pistol that can fire large laser beams which can obliterate anything in their path.
