==Trivia == *The PlayStation 2's life cycle was a total of thirteen years (2000-2013) and sold over 155 million units before being officially discontinued on 4 January 2013. As well, the 4 would then be announced a month later and was released in November of the same year. *The PS2 has over 1,850 games available. *This is the first console to have a DVD drive. *Sega Superstars is the only Sonic-related game exclusive to the PS2 that comes with the EyeToy camera. *The PS2 contains the largest selection of Sonic games available across the 6th generation, having a total of 10 games, including compilations featuring Sonic. *Sonic Heroes was the first Sonic game to appear on a Sony console. *The NTSC PS2 versions of Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog are the only releases of said games to allow the player to separately change the voice and text languages in-game. *The PS2 version of Sonic Gems Collection was released in Japan and Europe but was never released in the US for unknown reasons. The PS2 version also contains both soundtracks to Sonic CD, which can be changed by switching the console’s language. This is not the case for the GameCube port, which may have been done to save space. However, the version of Sonic R on GameCube supports four-players, which was reduced to two on PS2.
