Without his nemesis to foil him, Eggman conquered the world but was opposed by Sonic's friends, who formed a guerrilla group known as the [[Resistance]], triggering the [[War to Take Back the Planet]]. After six months of captivity, Sonic was freed by a Resistance recruit known as the "[[Avatar]]" and reunited with Classic Sonic.
