Omega's only goals in life are to take revenge on [[Doctor Eggman|Dr. Eggman]] for wasting his potential and destroy the doctor's other robots to prove himself superior. These two goals are absolute above all else in Omega's eyes. Like [[E-102 Gamma]], Omega has a free will and a personality. However, he is considerably less noble than Gamma; while E-102 destroyed only what needed to be destroyed, Omega destroys anything that could possibly pose any kind of threat to himself or his mission.<ref>[[Sega Studio USA|Sonic Team USA]] (15 November 2005). While Omega, as a robot, is largely emotionless, he is capable of understanding the emotions of others, and reacting appropriately. During the [[Solaris]] [[Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)|incident]], he showed sorrow and anger when [[Mephiles the Dark|Mephiles]] revealed that he would be the one who would trap Shadow in the future after the world blamed the black hedgehog for the release of [[Iblis]]. It is also possible Omega is superstitious, as he believes in omens such as the appearance of stormy weather, though this might have been because of his scanners picking up a powerful magnetic field.<ref>[[Sega Studio USA|Sonic Team USA]]. Omega is fairly loyal and dependable when one is on his good side, a bit of a holdover from his original purpose as a servant, and he is not incapable of looking past differences to forge alliances. He also genuinely cares for Shadow and Rouge as friends and allies and trusts their word over everyone else's. With this said, should Shadow turn rogue and attempt to endanger Rouge's life, Omega will retaliate as shown during [[Infinite]]'s illusion.<ref>[[Sonic Team]] (7 November 2017). In addition, he will temporarily abandon his vengeful quest against Eggman (or even indirectly work with him) if he detects a bigger threat, as evidenced by his participation in the battles against [[Neo Metal Sonic]] or Solaris.

Stereotypical of most robots, Omega tends to use technical sesquipedalian words instead of casual human speech. An example of this is when he uses "negative"<ref>[[Sega Studio USA|Sonic Team USA]]. Omega is a warlike and direct robot driven by a single-minded, revenge-based desire to hunt down and destroy [[Doctor Eggman|Dr. Eggman]] or [[Badnik|any]] [[Zombot|robots]] created by him. This attitude extends to the point where Omega feels entitled to his destruction.<ref name="StH25">[[IDW Sonic the Hedgehog Issue 25|''Sonic the Hedgehog'' #25]], "A Sudden Shift"</ref> Due to his intense hatred for Eggman, a robotic being's nature and origins are irrelevant: generally, as long as it is a robot created by Eggman, it deserves to be destroyed by his hands. As such, he puts no inhibitions on himself and will not hesitate to bring out brutal, if not deadly force against a perceived Eggman robot.<ref name="StH19">[[IDW Sonic the Hedgehog Issue 19|''Sonic the Hedgehog'' #19]], "Crisis City, Part 1"</ref> He will similarly take any opportunity to take on and destroy nearly any one of Eggman's creations with glee, no matter what the circumstances might be. However, he allowed himself to make exceptions with robots who aren't working for Eggman, such as [[Gemerl]] and [[Belle the Tinkerer|Belle]].

Omega has frequently shown a preference or even favor of overall more direct and heavy-handed approaches, whether he or his allies are dealing with Eggman's robots or momentary foes, and actively enthuses any plan that involves a physical confrontation. He once admitted that Shadow's direct attack on [[Clutch the Opossum|Clutch]] was far superior to the element of surprise that [[Rouge the Bat|Rouge]] had planned, and he once approved of a plan that meant he would get to destroy his fair share of Eggman robots.<ref name="StH19" /><ref name="StH34">[[IDW Sonic the Hedgehog Issue 34|''Sonic the Hedgehog'' #34]], "Chao Races and Badnik Bases, Part 2"</ref> Omega also shows a sense of deadpan sarcasm at times, having noted when he fought the Zombots in [[Sunset City]] that there was "too many targets, not enough bullets". However, this goes almost unnoticed due to his lack of expressive emotions.<ref name="StH19" />

Being robotic in nature, Omega speaks using a slightly robotic and computer-based speech pattern, both face to face and when factual. He also talks rather directly and matter of fact-ly. Sometimes, he also displays a slightly macabre mindset, like when he said he would make a "wall of bodies" from the Zombots he fought in Sunset City when [[Sonic the Hedgehog|Sonic]] told him to hold the line against the incoming enemies.<ref name="StH19" /> 

Omega seems to shy away from anything resembling amiable behavior, such as refuting being considered Sonic's "friend," objecting to calling fighting alongside Sonic "helping" him, calling verbal support being "patronized" and refusing to show mercy on Zombots that were once innocent civilians and allies.<ref name="StH192">[[IDW Sonic the Hedgehog Issue 19|''Sonic the Hedgehog'' #19]], "Crisis City, Part 1"</ref><ref name="StH32">[[IDW Sonic the Hedgehog Issue 32|''Sonic the Hedgehog'' #32]], "Recovery, Part 2"</ref> He is also incredibly determined, if not stubborn, to the point of where he would rather be destroyed in battle than retreat, recognizing only victory or death, even if he is at a major disadvantage or if his determination leads to his detriment.<ref name="StH20">[[IDW Sonic the Hedgehog Issue 20|''Sonic the Hedgehog'' #20]], "Crisis City, Part 2"</ref>  He also does not recognize any form of help. Additionally, he does not let his setbacks get to him; while he was reduced to only a head during the Zombot apocalypse, he still maintained his belligerent demeanor and thirst for violence.
