==== Phantom Riders ==== the Rouges catch up to Sonic's team and Jet begins to mock the hedgehog, taunting him with their busy recent work and cockily questions the speedster if he thinks he can truly beat the Babylon Rogues. Wave then teases Tails over his extreme gear, but Amy quickly defends him, telling Wave she would choose Tails' gear over hers any day. Storm attempts to threaten Amy, but the attempt quickly fails as Amy strikes fear into the albatross. Jet goads Sonic into making his own taunt, but the hedgehog ignores him and sets his acceleration to the max. As Jet fumes over his rival getting away, Sonic praises Tails over the acceleration of their upgraded Extreme Gear. Both Team Sonic and the Babylon Rouges continue to race through the streets until Jet tries to take a swipe at Sonic's gear. The two groups are interrupted by Lanolin fires a version of the variable wispon, noting that attacking another competitor is a violation to the rules. At the start of the second race the Rouges were on a lead until the Phantom Rider catch up and started mocking Jet. which Storm would tell him to wait for him and Wave, but Jet and the Phantom Rider were neck and neck until the phantom Rider leaves and while there is chaos on the course the Baylon rouges get top 3. But Wave noticed the audience was not cheering for them instead they were cheering for Surge and Kit causing frustration in Jet. in Misty Spire, the next round of Clean Sweepstakes is underway: a game of dodgeball. Surge is once again being cheered on by the audience for her performance, and begins taunting the other races in search of a real fight. This irritates Jet, who is reminded by Wave to calm down and focus on the bigger picture. Nite is heard attempting to calm the audience and assuring them that the referees will deal with the situation. Another individual wearing nearly the exact same disguise as Sonic but riding a different Extreme Gear has appeared in the arena, Surge, Kit, and the Babylon Rogues give chase, with Surge and Jet arguing over who will be the one to take down the Phantom Rider. Whisper to bump into Jet's Type-J, and the Rogues proceed to enter the brawl. Suddenly the Phantom Rider is unmasked and accidentally launching all of the Eggstreme Gear's weapons at the same time, leaving the hedgehog face-to-face with the other racers. Confused, but the rock tower falls over, separating Sonic from the rest of them as they are forced to flee. Later, the Babylon Rogues discuss the new development over dinner, with Jet calling it an insult to racing and to himself. Storm suggests that Sonic might have been paid off, but Jet finds the idea ridiculous. Wave reminds the two that Sonic is always doing heroic things and stopping bad guys, bringing them to the realization that if Sonic is trying to stop the Clean Sweepstakes, then Clean Sweep Inc. must be at fault somehow. From this, Wave infers that the event is a scam being fronted as a charity event to profit off of the Restoration's good name. Furious that Sonic figured it out before he did, Jet announces to his team that they have a new mission. Storm arrives and catches it and tells the other two Babylon Rogues to take care of the rest. Jet claims that his plan will get them back on top, to which Wave argues that it was her plan, and he knows it. Jet remarks that he gets the credit due to being the leader, and they begin making a path for the vehicles to follow through. In the middle of this, though, he spots Sonic amidst the crowd and begins chasing him down, determined to stop whatever Sonic is up to. Sonic throws his hood at Jet, distracting the hawk, Later on Jet would pass by The Bad Investment and leave as he thought he saw the Phantom Rider. the Babylon Rouges talk about how to approach the Phantom Rider and Wave reminds him to not be aggressive and Jet annoyingly agrees with Storm saying they brought no tracks. Soon after the race begins with Nite announcing it is set right in the streets of Central City. Suddenly the Phantom Rider appears, and Jet immediately goes after him while Wave crashes trying to remind him to be gentle when the Babylon Rogues surround him when Nite announces a halt in the race, saying that everyone is going after the Phantom Rider with him dogging attacks when Jet than orders the rouges to attack but are stopped by Kit's tails. Wave grabs a nearby Omochao and ask what the broadcast was about and what's going on when Surge responds saying that Clutch got called out so he's taking the ship down with him with her further saying that he's being dramatic but if he wants to burn and crash, she won't stop him. Soon the Diamond Cutters along with Sonic head towards the falling Battleship and The Babylon Rogues watch them from below when Storm ask if the race is over and Wave response saying they should just go home but Jet declines saying that they want a race, and Sonic owes them answers and they too head off. the Babylon Rogues overlook the burning shuttle as it descends toward Central City, with Storm and Wave commenting on the direness of the situation. After a moment of thought, Jet orders his team to follow him, having come up with a better idea than following Sonic to the shuttle. Jet boasts to Sonic about his team's efforts as they continue to pull the shuttle away from the city. Sonic informs the Babylon Rogues of the change in plans, and Jet begrudgingly cooperates after being reminded by Wave that they do not have time to argue. As Jet informs him that they have turned the ship, Sonic challenges the hawk to a friendly competition: whoever can evacuate the most people from Restoration HQ first wins. Jet accepts and sets off towards the Restoration. Sonic's group arrives at Restoration HQ, warning the people there about the imminent disaster. While Sonic and Jet begin competing, Sonic and Jet continue evacuating people, constantly trading the lead until they manage to save a total of ninety-two lives, forty-six each. The timer for the self-destruct sequence finally reaches zero as the shuttle crash-lands into the HQ, exploding and completely demolishing it. After dropping off the rescues outside, Sonic decides to go back to take one more look despite Amy's protests. He tries to invite Jet to join him, but the hawk refuses, unwilling to risk his life by going back when the place is already in ruins. At the sight of the destroyed HQ, Jewel drops to her knees and begins sobbing. While Amy tries to comfort her, Jet approaches Sonic and tells him that he is willing to concede to a tie on one condition: a rematch between the two with no distractions or conditions of any kind. Sonic accepts the challenge, eager to have some fun against his rival.
