This infobox is used to document major aspects of a character, including appearance(s) and creator(s), but largely leverages on in-universe information like affiliation, abilities and physical characteristics.

Usage[edit source]

The infobox may be added by pasting the template as shown below into an article, typically at the top of an article above the lead section.

Parameters[edit source]

All parameters listed here are optional.

Parameter Explaination
title Insert the full name of the character if necessary. If unused, the article title will be rendered at the infobox's header instead.
image A file to represent the character. If not filled (used for unseen characters), the file No-image.png is used instead.
caption A caption to describe the image if necessary.
first The first time the character appeared. The template {{only}} may be used to follow the named appearance if that is the only one the character has made, unless they are reasonably expected to return.
games A bullet list of the character's appearances in video games. Keep in mind that only games within the character's continuity of origin are included. For example, Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric (set in the Sonic Boom continuity) is not included in Amy Rose's (set in the video game continuity) infobox.
media A bullet list of the character's appearances in other media, which may also include separate continuities.
realcreator The person(s) who created the character in the real world.
artist The person(s) who designed the character's appearance.
actor Used for live-action performances in the Sonic the Hedgehog film series.
englishactor The English-language voice actor(s) for the character.
japanactor The Japanese-language voice actor(s) for the character.
otheractor Voice actors for the character in other languages.
age The character's age in-universe. Should be followed by a citation.
creator The in-universe creator(s) of the character, which does not include parents. Most often used for robots.
birthplace The location where the character was born.
family Relatives by blood of the character.
nickname Nicknames that are frequently used or otherwise known to be applied to the character.
species The character's species.
Gender The character's gender.
height The character's height. It is recommended to use the {{convert}} template for conversion from imperial to metric units and viceversa. Must be followed by a citation.
weight The character's weight. It is recommended to use the {{convert}} template for conversion from imperial to metric units and viceversa. Must be followed by a citation.
color scheme Overall colors of the character if they do not fit in the following five parameters. Most often used for robots.
fur color, feather color, hair color, skin color, eye color Fur, feather, hair, skin, and eye colors of the character.
attire Clothing most frequently used by the character.
afilliation The affiliation, either good, neutral or evil, of the character.
affiliation Any groups the character has been a part of.
food The character's favorite food.
likes and dislikes Used to list things the character is known to like or dislike.
skills In-universe abilities of the character, like super speed, mechanical skills, and transformations.
moves Gameplay moves the character has been able to utilize at least once, such as the Spin Dash.
ability type The character's "ability type", a type of gameplay categorization used in games like Sonic Heroes and Team Sonic Racing.
