Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The film series has been called the "Sonic Cinematic Universe" on numerous occasions. It was first coined by director Jeff Fowler in a USA Today interview.[12]
- Paul Scheer, an actor for Knuckles, abbreviated the term as "SCU".[13]
- The series itself uses some elements originating from the Early Sonic canon, such as naming Sonic's initial planet "Mobius", introducing the doctor as "Robotnik" first, and having Sonic receive his shoes as a gift from someone.
- As of April 2024, the cinematic universe's model is to use side series (e.g. TV shows) to flesh out specific characters, while having the movies feature larger casts dealing with larger events.[14]
