Hello, this is Tomoko Hayane!
Although the lingering summer heat is still around, there are gradually more days where we can feel the signs of autumn. When you think of autumn in Japan, it’s all about the vivid red and yellow hues of the changing leaves, right?
Now, the character I’m introducing this time has a color scheme reminiscent of those autumn leaves!
Do you know who I’m talking about?
The character featured in this month’s wallpaper illustration is…
Yes, it’s the ultimate battle robot created by Dr. Eggman… E-123 Omega!
Omega, poised with his sharp claws and locking onto something… Could it be that the target in his sights is none other than his creator and object of revenge, Dr. Eggman!?
If that’s the case, it’s likely that his right hand, out of view beyond the ring, is still equipped with some incredibly destructive weaponry. A machine gun, missiles… Omega’s arms have been outfitted with numerous weapons that have wreaked havoc in the past.
As many of you know, Omega wants to destroy Dr. Eggman and all his robots to prove that he is the “strongest.”
No matter how many times Omega smashes Eggman’s robot army, they keep coming back, but he seems to actually enjoy these battles as they let him truly feel his “supremacy”!
With that in mind, the pose in this illustration, which initially looked like “battle ready!”, now feels more like he’s saying “bring it on!” after wiping out the first wave of robots.
“More of Eggman’s robots, please!”
Somehow, this line fits, and despite his battle-crazed persona, it makes him seem a little cute… Or am I imagining things too much?
